What do you note from this 1932 article on global warming?

I appreciate the fact that he wasn't alarmist in his tone. I would have thought geologists of that day would have had a better grasp of the the multiple ice ages that were occuring. It was just after the infancy of geology so I shouldn't be too surprised. They didn't even concieve of plate tectonics in those days. They were just getting a grasp of how the earth formed. I think geology was in a similar state then that climate science is now. In 50 years we will probably look back and shake our heads at the silly notions that are common today.
